Pat Strand began working at Ace in 1981, as a part-time cashier. Prior to that she graduated from the University of Washington, and spent several years traveling in Latin America. The part-time, temporary position at Ace soon turned into a full time, permanent job - managing a succession of departments from electrical to hardware to gardening. In 1986 she became the store manager and in 1995 she purchased Ace from the Bennetts when they retired. Pat enjoys fishing, camping, gardening and enjoying her new log home that was recently built. Recently, Pat returned from her trip of a lifetime to Argentina where she was reunited wit her host family from when she was an exchange student in high school. She is an avid  U of Washington Husky fan.

Judy Klein started her career at Ace in 1980. She has been in charge of many different areas of the store - from paint to sporting goods, plumbing to tools. She also helps out with deliveries, helps in the shop, helps in the bookkeeping office, and she builds many of the displays we use in the store. Judy graduated from Eastern Washington University in education and she taught physical education and coached a variety of sports for ten years before moving to Anacortes. She still finds time in her busy schedule to coach Little League and Parks Department teams from time to time. Judy loves to fish, woodworking, friends & family.
